Only ONE more floor!!

Well girls and boys--this weekend I can FINALLY start living in my WHOLE HOUSE! My brother-in-law finished the den floor today and that means that everything (that I own) in the living/dining room can be placed in it's proper place!! Then Nan can finish the ONE LAST FLOOR that still needs flooring!

Here is my lovely new den floor! WOOHOO! I'm so happy!!  (I am actually quite tired of living out of my bedroom...)

Just need some baseboard--that will come later. Isn't it soooooooooo pretty???

And just for the heck of it, some sweet kitty paws *grin*

Tile. is. DONE!!

You know what my pet peeve is? BLOGgers who don't! And guess what--I AM ONE! Ha! It's been a while since I've posted anything, I know, but I've been kinda busy moving and not unpacking...I know, right? Moving and NOT unpacking. But I should be able to begin unpacking soon because there are only two more rooms to lay floor in!

My brother-in-law, Nan, finished the tile this weekend!! Woohoo! So without further ado, here are pics of the floor *grin*

First up, the last two bedrooms of the house...

guest bedroom

and this will be the library--despite the mattress.
Next is the hall bath. It's all done except for the toilet--gotta put that back in and then it'll be ready to go!

And now the pièce de résistance...the kithen! Ok, so it's not completed--still need cabinet doors and paint, but--the floor is in! And it's so pretty *grin*

Now, all this being said, my laundry room is still my favorite room of the house. HOW SAD IS THAT?!?!?
Looking back, I haven't shown you the laundry room! Argh! I can't believe it...

My aunt said, as she was painting the trim, that it reminds her of the beach. And you know what? She's completely right! Blue sky, sandy beach, and white fluffy clouds *grin*
Now, I still don't have the light fixture in, but it pretty much mirrors the floor (that's the pendant cover sitting on the dryer)...

This is my sweet baby Jude. This high window in my (our) bedroom is becoming his favorite place to sit and/or nap. *grin* He had a rough time at first adapting to the new house, but he's gotten quite used to it at this point.

These are his "I love you" eyes.
Thanks for stopping by--I'll try to do better with the blogging. But I make no promises!

3 Cheers for Indoor Plumbing!!

I'm back to the 21st century! My toilet is back where it belongs, and my bathroom is (mostly) finished. I have a light fixture in the sink, but who's to say that's not normal in some parts?

The floor is river rock on 3'x3' mesh backing. It was frustrating for Nan to lay it because it was sooo flexible--it kept curling under on two sides when he would go to lay it, ending up in the mortar.

I also now have flooring in my room *grin* Unfortunately, my wonderful brother-in-law is going to be in Oxford at work all week, so this is where the flooring will end for now. But since I still have painting to do, I guess that will be ok. By the time he gets back, it should all be ready for floor!

But other than that, I am POOPED!! Worked Saturday in the house for 10 hours straight with only a 15 minute lunch break. And since I was only cutting-in in the hallway, I feel like I got nothing done...However, I did paint my closet and swept and shop-vacced the craft room and down the hallway.

Here's the craft room. See--the begonia isn't quite so begonia now that the tiki hut is on the wall! Can't wait until I have money to buy the chair rail!! Hahaha --it'll be great then *grin* (and when I can get rid of the ugly pink fan!!)

And now for my favorite part--MY ROOM!! The floor looks fabulous with the green paint...koi pond--that's the name of it. Nan has done a really, really good job on the floor so far. I can't wait until the whole house is done!

Isn't it gorgeous? I love it! And you can see the $16 light fixture I got--it's not what will be there permanently, but it's better than wires hanging out of the ceiling!

Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon...hopefully I'll have more updates on the house soon!

Be gone, ya!

Actually, it's Begonia--as in the color of paint from Sherman Williams. And boy, is it bright!! My sister picked it out for my craft room, saying it (the craft room) needed to be bright and cheery. Cheery it will be! Take a peek...
The lower part will be Tiki Hut (a really pretty brown) with a chair rail separating the two...for now--it's blinding coming down the hallway!

My brother-in-law Nan also basically finished the 2nd bath today. He installed a glass block window one block at a time--there were no pre-fab ones that fit my window. He also installed the tub surround. I'm actually kind of jealous of this bath compared to my master bath!
Fancy Schmancy huh?? *grin* Nan did a GREAT job!!  Just some minor stuff to finish it up, then I can get to painting in there.

Speaking of bathrooms and painting, I have the top half of my bathroom completed. Just need to put the bottom half on Monday, and it will be ready for flooring! (and ready to put the toilet back in!!) If you can't tell from the picture below, the top half is a light grey, and the bottom half will be one shade darker and separated by a chair rail. My Aunt Ramona painted the window casing and sill today and the linen cabinet. She got started on the medicine cabinet and will finish it next week sometime. She also finished all the trim in my master!
If you look closely, you can see the line of demarcation  next to the bottom of the linen cabinet.

And yes, that is the toilet sitting in the middle of my bedroom. Hopefully by Wednesday I will have indoor plumbing again! For the time being, we are making trips to my apartment and/or McDonalds for potty breaks!

As for my apartment, I have a living room full of boxes...so I guess I'd better spend some time after church tomorrow packing! I have not packed the first thing yet...anybody wanna come do that for me??? *grin* Just had to ask...

...then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...
but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
